WordWeb
WordWeb
You know how annoying, irritating, frustrating it can be when you can’t think of the right thing, topic, word, well, with this free WordWeb download you won’t have that problem any more. With WordWeb you’re only one click away from a fantastic comprehensive dictionary and thesaurus for windows. You can use WordWeb to look up words from just about any program, show definitions, related words and synonyms. They even show you how each word should be pronounced (surely that depends on which part of the country you come from), has examples of how each word should be used and other links.
WordWeb does have two versions, one’s for free and one ain’t, but with the free one you still get:
- definitions and synonyms
- related words
- proper nouns (I always found that quite amusing when I was at school, “proper” nouns as opposed to “fake” nouns . . . right?) like designer sunglasses and handbags
- audio pronunciations (5000 of them)
- root words (not like root vegetables . . . that’s different) – there’s 150,000 of them (words not vegetables, I can only really think of potato, carrot and parsnip . . . oh, does swede count?)
- word senses, 220,000 of those
- fixed web reference tabs
So you see, there’s no excuse to struggle next time you’re trying to think of just the right word when you’re busy writing a report, article, presentation, best selling novel or letter of resignation.
