Google Earth
Google Earth
Anyone who hasn’t heard of Google Earth, raise your hand . . . where have you been? Even people who don’t own a computer, don’t want a computer, don’t even think about owning or wanting a computer have heard of Google Earth (my Dad) . . . it’s awesome. Google Earth is officially free science software, but it wouldn’t look out of place under entertainment . . . or just WOW. The first time anybody comes into contact with Google Earth I can guarantee that they’ll say this “look, there’s our house” . . . it’s brilliant. Does strike you a bit like “big brother is watching you” though, don’t you think?
Google Earth these days doesn’t only help you to find your house either, and try to work out when the picture is from . . . “oh well, the garden looks pretty bare so it must be before I bought all of those new bedding plants, now let met see, that was probably at the beginning of June” . . . . you can even track what’s going on under the sea (shipwrecks and stuff) and what’s happening on Mars . . . yes, I said on Mars, the planet, not “at Ma’s” or your Mom’s house.
Fascinating stuff huh . . . and more than a little bit disturbing!
What was that about “big brother”. There really is nowhere to hide these days is there?
